With The Rio 2016 Olympic Games quickly becoming history, BorehamMedia were ask to go to the 2016 School Games at Loughborough University. Held on 1st-4th September, we attended Day 2 where young people were competing in practically every sport you could think of!
The opening of the games saw the attendance of some medallists back from Rio. Max Whitlock (double Olympic medallist) observed, “It’s like a mini Olympic games for these guys… it’s a good stepping stone for what they can hopefully do for the future”.
Judo was definitely a highlight for us, not only because of the individuals who were passionate and determined but also because of all the (alarmingly) supportive parents who were screaming their heads off throughout the tournaments!
Icon was the client for this job; Icon “deliver brand and live experience” and their work has extended to half the world’s population! They dressed the 2016 School Games at the university which Stuart and Matt shot stills of. It was a huge site which involved a lot of walking, and by the end of it, Stuart and Matt felt like they had participated in the 2016 School Games themselves!
