Giving back through partnership

When we set up the business in 1997, we knew that video production was only part of the story.
We wanted the company to be a source of kindness and giving which is why we registered the company as Tithe Barn: Boreham Media is the trading name of that company.
In medieval times a Tithe Barn was used to store the 10% tax due to the authorities for the care of the poor, a concept that runs all through the Bible and is still practiced by many today. Every time I looked at a bank statement or an invoice I wanted to be reminded of our real name and through that, our purpose.
Across 4 decades of trading we have not changed the world – but we have changed the world for some people. Through our partnership with The Grassroots Trust we have supported children and families in Africa, India, Romania and the UK in projects ranging from HIV testing centres through to child sponsorship and covid support.
It has been tremendously rewarding to contribute towards projects and see life improve for people in dramatic ways. I can recommend it!
Staff and directors are encouraged to take on personal social and volunteering projects that have included school governorship, social action, media production in the charity sector and other activities aimed at making the world a better place. To that end, we also try to carbon offset our travel and energy consumption and use a carbon neutral green energy supplier.
We believe that doing the right thing, is the right thing. Get in touch if you want to know more and to find out how you too can get stuck in and help.
